About the Founder of Sing for Hunger Music Tour
Ms Gina Marie - Founder
NCA Music songwriter of Save My Baby due to be released soon, on NCA Music's The Heart Of Country Music promotional album. Now working with the writers of such songs as Tim Mcgraw's Don't Take The Girl www.ncarecordings.com. Ms Gina Marie started writing at the age of eight and was singing by the age of four. By the time she was 16 she was already an accomplished published poet and received reconitgnition for her abilities at that age in Nashville, TN for a song she wrote called Homeless.
This was the start of many, many more songs and more than just a few writings in her journals. Writing on anything she could find to write a song on or a place to perform. She won the leading role in the Christmas play singing the christmas carol Walking In A Winter Wonderland. She also sang for her small hometown's local church, Faith Bible Chapel in Spencer, New York.
This "Jersey Girl Gone Country Wild" has lived both the city girl and small town girl life, but life was to take a change in a major way. Growing up in foster care and children centers, and living on the street as a teen runaway, a teenaged single parent, and losing all she loved she somehow managed to shine and rise above the pain no matter what she went through. The passion, the will, and throughout the struggles, determination was hers for beliving she had a place in life to help others. While her time was spent unsure of what life had in store for her, she knew one thing and used it as her greatest strength and support - Music - which has now become one of her greatest accomplishments.
She faced disability too - experiencing debilitating seizures at the same time her youngest son Zachary Ray also experienced them. She had to make another hard choice: risk her kids lives if she were to be selfish not only with her life and her kids lives without a mom, she made the decision to have them live with their father and grandmother. The story behind her song Save My Baby is very intense yet with a positive message at the end. She wrote it for Zachary Ray, her youngest son, who died four times at the age of two but was brought back to life each time. According to Gina Marie: "This is a song I can not sing - it's one of those too close to the heart and a personal song for me. When NCA Music picked it up I knew it had found its home."
The Story Behind the Sing For Hunger Music Tour
For Gina Marie the Sing For Hunger Music Tour has always been a dream. But now, according to her: "How Sing For Hunger came not to be a dream anymore, I thought of it while being on SSI, feeling sorry for myself and for those around me who did not like me have much. I wanted simply to change that. I know what I am doing with the Sing For Hunger Music Tour is a very tall order and has a lot of things entailed to put each event on. And I also know that I am only one person in millions that feel like changing the world based on the situations or the economy. The truth is we all can all make a difference and its starts with an idea and grows into many supporting it. I have found and heard so many stories far worse then mine. I am a real person like everyone. I've had those moments where life did not seem fair at all and I've had the moments where I'm proud to be able to help even one person for one second think postive. And if I can get through and accomplish what I have, I believe that this cause and many more like it is worth it. Putting a smile on my kids faces knowing that I have taught them and they have taught me anything is possible and one person can do anything thay put their mind to despite disabilites, despite the past or their present situations. I'm real like you are and you're real like I am. Here's my place in the world - helping those in need like I have been helped! We all deserve chances and breaks. We all have a heart and it's those that look inside themselves and see what is positive - not just the negative that makes the difference. And it's who we are and what we can become now and in the future - Thank You All!!"
